...agoraphobia slips away as anxiety levels drop to normal

Agoraphobia is a symptom of high anxiety caused by the human compulsion to retreat away when real danger is present... but in high anxiety conditions like anxiety and panic disorders, no REAL threat exists.
Agoraphobia causes anxiety sufferers to retreat from potential danger and as their anxiety grows, agoraphobia causes the sufferer's world to become smaller and smaller. Many agoraphobia sufferers are confined to their homes or even rooms within their homes, never venturing out for fear of anxiety or panic.
Agoraphobia is curable.
Many agoraphobia sufferers believe that they are agoraphobic first and that this causes high anxiety and panic attacks; however, the opposite is true.
Anxiety always precedes agoraphobia... it has to. Without the 'what if' thoughts created by the fight or flight reaction, sufferers would not feel compelled to retreat to perceived safety... it is the 'what if' risk assessment thoughts of the fight or flight response which cause and perpetuate agoraphobia... in every case.
So how is agoraphobia cured?
When anxiety is eliminated, agoraphobia cannot survive.
In the last 13 years of treating over 130,000 agoraphobia and anxiety sufferers, we have never experienced one case where on eliminating anxiety, agoraphobia has remained... it is physiologically impossible.
Our program, The Linden Method, forces the anxiety control center in the brain to believe that it is safe, causing the anxiety level to fall back to normal; this causes agoraphobia to retreat completely.
